Facilitator Profile

Angelica Zapata

  • Jamie Elzea
Angelica is a life coach and an educator, certified in Early Childhood Development. She works with the Center for Child and Family Well-being at University of Washington, facilitating professional and parent well-being training programs and overseeing program development and delivery in Spanish. She is also certified by Life University to facilitate Compassion Integrity Training and, more recently, completed her training to facilitate “Listening Mothers” through the Community of Mindful Parenting.

Angelica is a first-generation Latina who enjoys volunteering for the Army Community Service. She has led and promoted programs that support the well-being of the Latinx and military communities. As a former military spouse, she had to learn resilience and self-regulation skills to successfully navigate the constant changes and struggles of military families. Angelica believes that transcending the pain of life changing events with mindfulness and self-compassion is the portal to insight, a true opportunity for growth and transformation.
